I might add to Alexis's excellent suggestions that you might get away with uploading files one by one to your server, if your hosting service supports it.

At Bluehost, where I am hosted, I can upload by FTP the compressed archive and have it uncompressed directly by the hosting server.

If this is available to you, you might want to try either of these two options (or one after the other, if the first one does not work) before uploading uncompressed files one by one in their appropriate place in the site structure:

  1. upload the archive to /inbox/yacs and go to this URL : http://w ww.yoursite.com/scripts/ and click the link to the archive
  2. alternatively, upload the archive to /scripts/staging and, using your webhosting access (maybe CPanel), decompress it, then go to this URL http://w ww. yoursite.com/scripts/update.php and continue from there
Notice : the URL below assume your Yacs installation is at the root of your site. If you have installed it in a directory called yacs (for example), the URL have to be adjusted like this : http://w ww.yoursite.com/yacs/scripts/update.php

One more thing : you might have to run the updating process twice to make sure everything is allright because, in some instances, some scripts may not execute on the first run (if they require execution of another script first, which is accomplished in the first run).

Good luck!
