When trying to install 8.3, upgrade to 8.5 or install 8.5 from scratch or running setup.php after the failed install I get a blank screen at the part which populates/ensures the database structure/schema. By increasing my memory limit to 16mb I was able to get 8.5 installed. Cheers, Nick.

I ran into a problem too. I got around it by uploading the .tgz into the inbox and running it that way.

Nick, we had the same issue during Chonas 2008, during setup of yacs on Mac OSX with MAMP. The control/setup.php script just crashed in the middle of tables creation, and we had to change PHP.INI and to relaunch the script to continue the installation.

I do believe that the 8M limit, that is very common in PHP, may be hit by yacs on occasion, depending on operating system, version of PHP, etc.

With the WAMP Server version 2, this is not an issue anymore since PHP.INI has been configured at 128M...

Bernard, we need to consider what are common memory limits for hosted web servers, where people do not have easy access to php.ini settings.
