Installation Error - You are not allowed to handle skins of this server

Teague Suzanne -- on Mar. 7 2007

I downloaded, unzipped and then uploaded by FTP. I went through several steps of the installation and then I can get no farther. I can not get to the control panel.

I have read back through the forum and did see a couple of other people had this problem and I did a complete clean install as well. I have no idea what could be wrong and no idea where to start.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

This may come from improper management of session data on server side, or on cookie de-activation on browser side. Can you check these ?

Can you tell me how to check the server side...I am guessing that on the browser side I do that through my internet options. Mine is set to medium security. Do I need to change that?

JavaKitti: Please visit the test page of your site, at control/test.php, or, actually, http://your_server/yacs/control/test.php, then reload the page several time (Ctrl-R with Firefox). Can you see the little counter changing on each reload?

Bernard: You mean the seesions variables line? It did increase everytime I refreshed the page.

Here is the link:

[off subject] I like the pictures of the hamsters. I have a girl hamster I just had to take to the vet twice in the last month. Her fur is coming out and the doctor said it looks hormonal WOW...kinda strange to think my babygirl is having hormone issues. I also have a pet Chipmunk and he is such an awesome critter. [/off subject] (it wouldn't let me use tags )

Thanks for your help....

JavaKitti: so you are on the safe side, and session storage is ok on server side. Next step is to look at the browser. Are you playing with IE or Firefox? The latter is our reference browser, used during development, for the setup and administration of many sites, etc.

I use IE 7 and I really like the tab browsing.

The installation of YACS has been tested under IE7, and no issue has been found here. The mid-range setting is ok. Have you changed some other settings to optimize speed or similar?
