Joe, which version of YACS have you installed? And what is the error message returned by Apache?

Bernard:

Here is what I did

1. First, I created two databases i.e. yacs and yacsusr 2. CHMOD the folder 3. run setup.php (there is start installation process) 4. It goes to Main Configuration Panel and there is an "ERROR: Unsuccessful connection to the database. Please check lines below and edit parameters again." 5. I click Edit Parameter and got "Apache.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close ...". I OK this error message 6. I click the button on the bottom "Look for software extension" It goes to "Scan script for hooks"

FYI, I am using the latest download. It says ver 6.9

Thanks Bern

Joe_en: Step 4 is not normal. You have to provide adequate parameters to YACS to connect to the database...

Bernard:

Good news - I have successfully installed YACS at http://www.digitalmcm.com/index.php without above problem - it only happened locally, not sure.

Now my biggest challange is to put some sections, articles and other featured categories in the front page (I tried several times without success yet ). My idea of the front page is like http://www.digitalmcm.com/index.html Not sure yet how to do this

I will play around with the css

Thanks alot Bernard . . .

Joe_en: Great news! Maybe you would like to use the Content Assistant (from the Control Panel) to populate your new server.

Bernard:

In reference to this: http://wwwndigitalmcm.com/index.php

First - I got an "Error on page" message on the bottom left. The detail say "nicetittle.length" is null or not object I saw this same error also in your website

Second, the joi skin seems does not work with ie7 - I already modify the css on the above page, works well in IE6, Mozilla and FF.

Third . . . I do not remember - but if I am not mistaken yacs will create SEO friendly pages - however, in my pages, there are index.php?id=19 (something like this) for all news . .. is there something I should set?

Thanks alot Bernard. Have nice weekend from Bali . . .

Joe_en: For the SEO feature, look at the system configuration panel (from the control panel).
